adopt a tree

Over 111 trees have been planted at Wolwedans Village during the past ten years, gradually transforming it into an oasis that enhances the well-being of people who live there and small creatures alike. Trees and hedges provide shade and shelter from the hot dry desert winds, and one day there might be enough flowers to support bee colonies – the ultimate goal and icing on The AridEden Project cake.

The Adopt a Tree initiative starts with mapping all existing trees at the Wolwedans Village and then grouping them into small, medium and large. These will be made available for ‘adoption’ with respective price tags according to size. Alternatively, people can adopt a new tree, which will be planted on their behalf.

Adopt a Tree contributions will go towards securing the water recycling system that is needed to ensure the tree grows to full size and realises its full conservation, carbon sink, and resident well-being potential.
