The diversity of activities taking place at Wolwedans Village and beyond through our Desert Based Economy often means that our ‘resident family’ is extended beyond what the current Village facilities can accommodate. A Village Guesthouse will provide fun, quirky rooms of ±3* standard for visitors that cannot be considered ‘regular’ tourists. This could include volunteers, visiting officials, stakeholders, trainers, examiners, visiting family, pilots and guides, etc.
The Guesthouse will concurrently serve as a training venue for entrants to the Desert Academy training programmes, both in hospitality and culinary disciplines, as well as an income generator for the Foundation. Fees for room and board at the guesthouse would be more budget-friendly and would be channeled through the Wolwedans Foundation as a source of revenue to ensure longer-term financial sustainability.
